Hi, I’m Abby Castro and I’m currently an employee of Digital Strategies.
What do you currently do at DigiStrats?
Currently as a graphic designer of DigiStrats, I help out with the design needs of the company such as editing websites, creating marketing materials and other related tasks.
Why were you interested in DigiStrats in the first place?
Before I was hired, I was going through a career shift; I wanted to explore the creative industry. After seeing DigiStrats’ portfolio and the various kinds of work that I could potentially do with them, I was immediately drawn to the idea of joining the company.
What are your goals which you hope to achieve?
I would like to expand my knowledge of the creative industry. It would be really nice if I could gain more experience in terms of videography, website design and illustration.
How is your experience working for the company?
Working for the company so far has been an amazing experience. I am learning something new every day and I can honestly say that I am well on my way to achieving the goals that I’ve set for myself. Also, I love the fact that I get to do the kind of work that I love while collaborating with different kinds of people.
How about the team, how do you like the people you are working with?
The team behind DigiStrats is an incredible group of people. They’ve been very supportive since day 1 and have never failed to help me out with my questions. Everybody’s really nice here.
What do you feel has impacted you the most?
I think it would be the openmindedness and efficiency of the company. The people here are quite open to new ideas and the collaborative environment is something that I really like about DigiStrats. Also, it’s nice how they focus on your strengths and try to maximize the potential of those while at the same time, letting you learn new stuff.
Do you have any advice for anyone considering applying to the DigiStrats internship program?
For me, just don’t be afraid to try because trying is always better than having regrets later on about missing out on opportunities. Also, by trying and getting out of our comfort zones, let us learn new things and I think that’s something that we should be consistently pursuing everyday. It’s quite important for me to always be on the lookout for new experiences because it’s the only way that we can truly grow as a person.
